Will the Bruins Re-Sign Winger David Pastrnak?

Must read

Bruins Right Winger David Pastrnak is in his final year of his contract that he signed before the 2017-18 season. Pastrnak has been one of the young and brightest stars in the National Hockey League, especially with the Bruins. Only being 26 years old, Pastrnak has proven he has the ability to score and be a difference maker when he on the ice. Currently during the 2022-23 season he has 19 goals, 19 assists tallying up to 38 points in only 27 games played so far this season. In 537 career games played, Pastrnak has scored 259 goals, adding 283 assists, with a total of 542 points.

Future Face Of The Franchise

Boston Bruins has a future face already on its roster in Pastrnak. Captain Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand have had great successful Stanley Cup winning careers in a Bruins uniform. Next man up to win a cup would be Pastrnak and keeping him in a black and gold sweater is a must. He is set to be a top free agent candidate once the season is over. It’s been hard lately to be a Boston sports fan and dating back to Tom Brady leaving for Tampa Bay, and recently former Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts took his talents to San Diego. This isn’t a trend that want to see keep happening in New England. I am very hopeful that he will remain a Bruin heading into the next season.

General Manager Don Sweeney Should Sign Pastrnak Soon

There should be no wasting time when it comes down to signing one of your core guys like Pastrnak. GM Don Sweeney needs to do his homework and make sure you give him the contract he is looking for. 6-8 year deal would be great for Pastrnak for a total of $100-120M on average around $20M per season. The Bruins are having a great season with new head coach Jim Montgomery behind the bench. Hopefully this earlier season success can lead for Sweeney and Pasta to come to an agreement a long-term deal.
