The Boston Celtics are off to a historic offensive start in the 2022-2023 NBA season. Up until this week, Boston held the title of most efficient offense in history. Boston stands at 13-4 at the time of recording, holding the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

One of the biggest contributors to Bostons scalding offensive start is Jayson Tatum. The 25 year old star has been among the top 10 most efficient volume shooters. As opposed to other years that we’ve seen Tatum go through ebbs and flows in his shooting stroke.

The Rafters crew has a theory this historic offensive start is a direct result of new coach, Joe Mazzulla. Mazzulla himself was a scoring point guard during his time attending West Virginia and Liam believes that mindset for setting up an efficient offense carried over to his coaching career. Last year Udoka built a culture of a defensive minded team that propelled them to the finals. This year Mazzulla has addressed the area they came up short on in the championship. The Offense.

Once again the Celtics have a big man issue. Despite the Historic offensive start, an old Al Horford, Noah Vonleh, and an apparently even older Blake Griffin aren’t going to cut it in Rob Williams absence.
