The Colonnade Hotel

With the forecast looking all hot-town, summer-in-the-city this week it’s perfect timing for The Colonnade Hotel to open up their rooftop pool and cafe, RTP, on Friday, May 24th. Get your cutest suits ready, grab a beach tote and head to the Back Bay for a little R&R right in the heart of downtown. The urban oasis nestled on the 12th floor is all decked out with chaise lounges and plush towels so there’s more room in your bag for a beach read, plus you can cool off with a summery cocktail or two before taking a dip, or fill up on a shrimp cocktail snack or a lobster roll from the Poolside Menu. If you prefer a little privacy, book a cabana for a shady place that’s got all the creature comforts including lounge chairs and couches, TVs, refrigerators, charging stations, Sun Bum sunscreen and dedicated wait staff.

RTP is open to the public every Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00pm (it’s reserved for hotel guests on Friday and Saturday). You should definitely make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance if you’re ready for a day in the sun, because the pool is very popular. Entry costs $55 per person to hang out on the pool deck lounges, and cabanas are available seven days a week for $400 to $500 depending on the day, which doesn’t include a $300 to $500 food and drink minimum (weekends are extra). You can make a reservation by calling 617.425.3408, and you can get all the specifics about hours of operation and cabana rental forms here.
