Do you remember when we were all excited about the Red Sox signing Trevor Story? I know I was! But then as the season started, we as Red Sox fans realized a few things. Story’s numbers were a bit high because of how far the ball travels in Colorado. Also, Trevor Story is known to start very, very, slowly in the month of April. But now, maybe we can take a look at Trevor Story a little bit differently. The bat seems to be coming alive a bit for the Red Sox second baseman. So let’s talk. Let’s talk about Trevor Story!

Trevor Story and his adjustment to Boston

Newsflash everyone, players need time to make adjustments! It’s crazy, I know. Trevor Story is coming over from the National League to the American League. It takes some time to get used to a different league. Keep in mind, he also was switching from shortstop to second base. That isn’t an easy adjustment to make either! So factor that all in, and he’s actually starting to look really good. It took time, but he just looks more comfortable at the plate!

Story related to Xander Boagerts

With Story in the fold, it’s very easy to see Xander Bogaerts to the door. I’m hoping that’s not the case. But the evidence is there. Story signed to a six year deal. Bogaerts is a free agent at the end of this season. Should Chaim Bloom sign Bogaerts too? Yes, absolutely. Will he? I can’t see it happening. It’d be a colossal mistake. But make no mistake about it, Trevor Story will play shortstop at some point for the Red Sox. If Xander miraculously was signed, then X at short and Story at 2nd is a great pairing up the middle for the next five seasons. What a tough spot the Red Sox put Trevor Story in, if that’s the case!

In Conclusion

It’s great to see Trevor Story come around. We’re starting to see the Colorado Trevor Story that fans were excited about when he signed here. Now let’s just hope the production will continue for the rest of the season!
