Never thought that I would see the day where a celebrity would have their own bowl game named after them. With that being said let me introduce you to the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl. We have a Mountain West vs Pac 12 matchup in this one, and I am very curious to see this game. This matchup is between Utah State (10-3) and Oregon State (7-5). With that being said here is my preview for the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl.
Utah State
The Utah State Aggies is coming off of their first ever Mountain West title and has a big matchup against a power five school in Oregon State. This offense’s explosiveness is the reason why they have been phenomenal so far in 2021. Quarterback Logan Bonner and wide receiver Deven Thompkins both broke school records this year. This duo is one of the best duos in the nation when it comes to production. Bonner threw for 3,560 yards to go along with 36 passing touchdowns which is a school record. While Thompkins has 1,589 receiving yards not only broke a school record, but he is second in the nation for most receiving yards this season as well.
The Aggies running back Calvin Tyler Jr also transferred from Oregon State so this will add another level for him. This team a season ago was a one-win team. Now they are Mountain West champions, the sky is the limit for this group. Defensively they are talented up front to put pressure on Oregon State and can make them readjust their gameplan on the fly which is worst case scenario for the Beavers. This game will be the icing on the cake for one of the best seasons in Utah State football history with a win here.
