A real Boston winter

Except for the rain, we are experiencing a real downtown Boston winter. Some folks have forgotten how to handle the snow.

I was in the local hardware store in Lexington where I live the other day, and people came to buy salt, shovels, and roof rakes. Typically that stuff sells out early in the winter and will be restocked by next fall. However, because of the warm weather this winter they were fully stock

But back to Boston, to my friends in Beacon Hill, if you have shovels please use them to shovel the sidewalk so that our neighborhoods are walkable and safe.

Beacon Hill residents who do not have shovels can probably borrow one from a neighbor. At Ford Realty we would be happy to lend anyone a shovel if they want to use it to clear a sidewalk.

Many Beacon Hill apartment owners like to use salt their walks, which is good. However, if use too much salt, it pollutes the water and kills plants.

Sand also works to melt ice and make icy sidewalks less slippery. I use sand to get out when I get stuck in our snowy, driveway.

Toughen up Bostonians! You got this! We only have 3 more months of winter.
